Who says it’s time for the holidays? Taylor Momsen, that’s who!
Momsen, who starred as Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 film “How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” has brought back the nostalgia of the holiday classic in her reimagined version of “Where Are You Christmas?,” alongside her band, The Pretty Reckless.
And she didn’t stop at the song. Momsen slipped back into acting in its accompanying music video. Picture this: Momsen is in her childhood bedroom, watching her younger self during the “Grinch” press tour; as her song begins to play, she chimes in alongside her younger self, reminiscing on days past – that is, until she takes over the track. As modern-day Momsen gives a rock n’ roll makeover of the classic tune, she ties together the past with the present, taking fans back to a time when life was simpler, and dreams of Santa Claus and snowball fights were all that mattered. Don’t we all wish we could jump back into the magic of childhood?
But, like us, Taylor grew up. Since her days as a childhood star, she’s cemented herself as rock royalty with her band’s innovatively edgy tracks, including the Certified Platinum 2020 hit “Heaven Knows.” But even a rockstar as big as Momsen knows your roots are where the real magic lies; as a recent press release for the band noted, “It’s a wholesome, fun, and beautiful tribute to Taylor’s evolution as an artist and a celebration of where The Pretty Reckless have arrived with their powerful, signature sound.”
