Growing up in one of the most popular bands of the twentieth century, Kevin Jonas is no stranger to the finer things; designer clothes, sold-out stadiums, multiple television shows & movies – but he doesn’t care about any of that.
In his new single, “Little Things,” Jonas offers a more personal perspective on what really matters: love. The song highlights the importance of the subtle, everyday moments that form the foundation of a strong relationship: genuine understanding, clear communication, attentiveness to one another’s needs, and mutual support during difficult days.
Inspired by his wife of 17 years, Danielle, the song marks only his second venture into solo work. “It took me 15 years to feel confident in making music on my own,” Kevin shared in a recent press release. “I finally find one song, and it was everything I’d been searching for. It unlocked the sound. The search was over, and I could build on it.”
That song was “Changing,” which he described as “a new beginning,” reflecting honestly on the pressures of fame. In contrast, “Little Things” offers a glimpse into who Kevin is beyond the Jonas Brothers label: a husband.
“Lyrically, it’s very detailed. It’s a little sexy and fun with the ‘steaming up the shower’ line. You’ve got to keep it spicy, I guess,” Kevin teased. “The song highlights all of her favorite things. When you think about it, those little things make us who we are. She isn’t over-the-top; she’s just the perfect person.”
In a world where playlists are full of pop princesses being played for fools, it’s nice to know Jonas still treats his wife like a queen. Maybe there’s hope after all.
