What Gave Her the Confidence? Illusion: Reneé Rapp Unveils “Lucky” For ‘Now You See Me’ Film

Reneé Rapp is as confident as they come. From Broadway to the big screen, she’s dominated the entertainment industry for over half a decade – and now, she’s cementing herself in cinema history.

For the upcoming (and highly anticipated) third installment of the Now You See Me franchise, entitled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, Reneé was tapped to create an original piece for the soon-to-be iconic soundtrack.

“Lucky” seems to pose as the movie’s “bad b*tch” anthem, something Rapp is quite good at portraying – both personally and professionally. “I’m good at getting what I want, don’t need forgiveness or permission” sounds like a line straight from the singer’s diary rather than a lyric in a song, but somehow, Rapp makes both seem chic. She’s almost untouchable, yet somehow simultaneously relatable; she’s a friend, having endured (and sung about) the throws of young adult life, all the while acting as a motivator – who wouldn’t want the carefree confidence of a woman who sings, unironically, “I’m so fly and I’m so money. Baby, you can look but don’t get touchy?”

I’ve never seen any of the Now You See Me films, but with Reneé in on the magic, I’ll be sure to be there – so, if you’re in the theaters, now you’ll see me.
