This April 22–29, the Independent Film Festival Boston (IFFBoston) returns for its 23rd year. With the first wave of films now announced, the lineup is already generating buzz for one of the city’s most prominent cinematic events.
Audiences can expect filmmaker Q&As, panel discussions, and parties; all part of a week-long celebration showcasing the best in contemporary American and international cinema.
The Venues:
A true Greater Boston affair, the festival will host screenings across some of the area’s most beloved arthouse cinemas, including the Somerville Theatre in Davis Square, the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square, and the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline.
The Films:
The festival opens on Wednesday, April 22 at the Somerville Theatre with “I Love Boosters” (courtesy of Neon), starring Keke Palmer, with director Boots Riley in attendance.
Closing night on Wednesday, April 29 will feature “The Invite” (courtesy of A24) at the Coolidge Corner Theatre, with director Olivia Wilde expected to attend.
Other standouts from the 90 film lineup include “Power Ballad” (courtesy of Lionsgate), starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas; the Narrative Centerpiece Spotlight “Tuner” (courtesy of Black Bear Pictures), directed by Daniel Roher; and the Documentary Centerpiece Spotlight “Remake,” directed by Ross McElwee, who is also expected to be in attendance.

Amelia Cordischi, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Juice Box Press, is an accomplished digital marketing professional with over a decade of experience in media and communications. Her work has been featured in notable publications, including The Boston Globe. A communications graduate of Simmons University in Boston, Amelia served as manager of Simmons College Radio (“The Shark”), where she also launched and co-hosted her radio show, The Find.
In addition to her editorial work, Amelia is an established freelance photographer, with bylines in Blended Magazine and CelebMix, capturing artists and cultural moments across the music and media landscape. Her career began at WCVB-TV’s Chronicle, the ABC affiliate in Boston, where she gained firsthand experience in broadcast journalism and storytelling.
When she’s not taking photos from the photo pit, interviewing emerging artists, or crafting the next Juice Box Press feature, Amelia can be found thrifting and exploring the world of sustainable fashion.
