British Singer/Songwriter, Maisie Peters is back with her new single, “Daydreams†off of her forthcoming debut album.Â
At the beginning of the week Peters teased “IM RELEASING A SONG THIS FRIDAY. IT’S CALLED DAYDREAMS AND IT WILL PROBABLY MAKE YOU CRYâ€
The tear inducing relatable ballad tells the heartbreaking story of someone who realizes that the person they “daydream†about does not share the same feelings.
With most of the world in self quarantine with limited access to resources; Peters got creative with the track’s accompanying lyric video. In the video, Peters flips through a handwritten notebook to reveal the song’s lyrics, while her Mom films over her shoulder. The simplicity of the video allows the complexities of the story and lyrics to be amplified.
On the release date, Maise wrote on her instagram, “The moral of the story is u should always make dramatic diary entries in your notes when you’re sad and drunk in ubers as sometimes u get special songs out of them.†She also teased that we may see a few more singles in the next few months as she continues to work on her debut album.
Until then we will be listening to “Daydreams,†which is truly something “special.â€Â Â
