‘House Tour’ and Coachella: Sabrina Carpenter Steals the Show Again – And This Time, She Brought Friends

In her latest music video for her single, “House Tour,” Sabrina Carpenter stars alongside Margaret Qualley and Madelyn Cline as the Pretty Girl House Cleaning Crew, and boy, do they know how to clean house.

Throughout the video, co-directed by Carpenter and Qualley, the scantily-clad sweepers pour through the belongings of a rich man while his house is empty – à la Sofia Coppola’s “The Bling Ring.” While Qualley helped direct the video, her husband, producer Jack Antonoff, helped Carpenter create the hit song, making it a family affair.

Carpenter’s videos seem to have two staples: inspiration from a hit film (think “Death Becomes Her” for her “Taste” music video alongside “Wednesday” actress Jenna Ortega) and that a man must always die on-screen, as she states in her music video for her hit single “Tears.” “It’s a thing – a man must die in every video.”

There’s many an Easter Egg to be found for fans connecting all of Carpenter’s videos; the heel Carpenter is wearing at the beginning of the video is bloody, leading to theories that it’s the same shoe used to kill her victim at the end of her last music video, “Tears”. In the video for “Please Please Please,” her alleged ex-boyfriend Barry Keoghan gets duct tape over his mouth, sealed with a kiss from Carpenter – and the lipstick stained duct tape then makes a cameo in the “Taste” video on a stuffed pink bear. And when she was arrested at the end of the video for her smash hit “Espresso,” she’s ultimately getting out of jail in the beginning of “Please Please Please.” As the getaway car pulled out of the driveway for “House Tour,” fans were left eagerly anticipating her next steps, thinking “where will she take the Sabrina Cinematic Universe next?”

The answer? Coachella.

This past weekend, Carpenter headlined weekend one of the iconic music festival, held annually in the deserts of Indio, CA.

Fans spotted the cleaning crew van from her latest video on festival grounds, accompanying her collab with Airbnb for “Sabrina’s Pit Stop.” Here, fans could refuel at a retro-chic stop on festival grounds, trading desert heat for delicious drinks and exclusive merch for fans to rock all weekend long.

This pit stop was a break for everyone but Carpenter, who delivered a powerhouse set on the festival’s main stage Friday night. Opening up with “House Tour,” Indio had been turned into old Hollywood inspired “Sabrinawood” for the night, with Carpenter owning every star on her own walk of fame – and served in custom Dior while doing it.

Her set included all of her hit singles, such as “Espresso,” “Feather,” and “Juno,” and featured cameos from friends and fellow artists alike – Susan Sarandon, Williams Ferrell, and Corey Fogelmanis all on stage at the same time? Yes please!

The one performance everyone can’t stop talking about though? “Tears.”

As the singer got in her car on stage, presumably to make her way down “Sabrinawood Boulevard,” her seat began to rise, proving itself to actually be a giant fountain. Here, while the water sprinkled the stage like “Singin’ in the Rain,” she delivered the iconic dance break from the track’s music video, proving that Carpenter can deliver just as hard on the main stage as she does in any music video. Later, she drove away in a vintage car, like Sandy from “Grease.”

With weekend one in Carpenter’s rear view and weekend two just up ahead, we can’t wait to see where Carpenter takes us on her journey.
