After earning glowing reviews for her debut EP ANGELPINK, alt-pop singer-songwriter Keni Titus is revisiting fan favorites and giving unreleased songs their moment with ANGELPINK (no halo), an acoustic-driven rerelease that presents her music in its purest form.
Produced by Jake Weinberg and Hudson Pollock, ANGELPINK (no halo) is delicate and raw, stripping away the gritty pop production of the original project to let Titus’ songwriting shine.
Alongside fan favorites like “hands to myself (hudson’s piano),” the rerelease also includes “the street,” an original demo that didn’t make the final tracklist for ANGELPINK. Thanks to a little divine intervention, however, the song finally found its home on (no halo).
We caught up with Keni Titus to find out what inspired her to revisit ANGELPINK acoustically, the fan favorite that almost didn’t make the original EP, and what fans can expect as she joins Role Model on the EU/UK leg of his tour.
JUICE BOX PRESS: What inspired you to revisit this EP as an acoustic project?
KENI TITUS: I have been obsessed with the “pretty in pink” demo forever and just wanted to have those songs be able to live in a similar world as that. A little additional EP seemed like a perfect package.
JUICE BOX PRESS: This EP includes several fan favorites. Were you surprised by which songs resonated most with listeners?
KENI TITUS: ‘Baby’ almost didn’t make the cut when we were choosing which songs to put on the EP, so it’s been cool to see people loving that one more.
JUICE BOX PRESS: “the street” began as a demo that didn’t make the final tracklist for the original EP. What made you want to revisit it and include it on this rerelease?
KENI TITUS: I’ve always really loved my writing on “the street,” and I just thought it deserved to be on there.
JUICE BOX PRESS: What was the inspiration behind “the street,” and how has your relationship with the song evolved since you first wrote it?
KENI TITUS: I wrote it when I was nineteen or twenty, I believe, so it feels quite far away from who I am now. I wrote it after I had, I guess, experienced proper obsession with a person and then they…left.
JUICE BOX PRESS: Which song was the most rewarding, or the most challenging, to rework acoustically, and why?
KENI TITUS: I think “hands to myself” – we struggled with a bit at first. Originally we didn’t think a piano version could be possible because neither me nor my producer play super well. Somehow Hudson ended up learning the part in an hour, and then there we had it.
JUICE BOX PRESS: You recently performed a No Halo acoustic show. What was it like hearing these songs in such an intimate setting and experiencing fans’ reactions in real time?
KENI TITUS: I really prefer that sort of environment. The show was in this beautiful church in Silverlake, so I felt the energy was really peaceful. I really just enjoyed the gentleness of that performance. I love seeing faces up close and being able to actually talk to people. There’s really nothing like it.
JUICE BOX PRESS: You’ll be joining Role Model on tour in 2027. What are you most looking forward to about that run, and what can fans expect from your live show?
KENI TITUS: I am so excited for every part, honestly. I’ve never really explored Europe in my life or seen any of these places. I think visiting for the first time while getting to do what I love is a dream, and I’m like, how is this my life? I’m just GRATEFUL. I want to try all the foods too. I just hope that everyone has a good time with me, and that’s really all I can ask for.
