Heartbreak feels better on the dance floor.
In her latest single, Demi Lovato knows the feeling all too well. “Here All Night” is a classic retelling of a modern love story: boy meets girl, boy ghosts girl, girl goes to the club to avoid sitting in bed crying all night. (Haven’t we all been there?)
In a departure from her signature powerhouse pop anthems, Lovato draws inspiration from the very clubs she once found solace in, crafting a future club classic that serves as a soundtrack for others navigating similar struggles. “But if I’m never better, never put back together, I’ll turn the pain into pleasure, I can stay here forever,” she sings over a looping synth and pulsing keyboard. The track is almost hypnotic, her voice subtly luring you in and nearly forcing you to follow her to the dance floor – a perfect follow up to her previous dance hit, “Fast.”
Lovato didn’t stay heartbroken for long, though; this past May, the former Disney darling married singer-songwriter Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in a lavish Santa Barbara estate.
As if that weren’t enough for Lovato, she also recently announced the return of her cult classic Disney film, Camp Rock, alongside former co-stars The Jonas Brothers. While Lovato isn’t set to reprise her leading role as Mitchie Torres, an aspiring singer-songwriter, she is set to executive produce. Here’s hoping for a surprise cameo, Demi!
Her new album, “It’s Not That Deep,” is arriving October 24th. In a recent Instagram post, the star wrote “IT’S NOT THAT DEEP. my ninth studio album, will be yours on october 24 ❤️ this music is a reflection of where i am now. so proud of all the work I’ve done, and now, it’s time to celebrate and have some fun!!!”
Demi’s been in the game for a while, but now, she’s here all night – and it’s not that deep.
