REVIEW: The Kid LAROI’s “A Perfect World Tour” in Boston

The Kid LAROI arrived into Leader Bank Pavilion Tuesday night for what turned out to be a really great show at one of Boston’s best outdoor spots. The waterfront setting alone set the tone before a single note played, and LAROI made sure the night lived up to it.

The production was minimal yet futuristic, filled with thick clouds of fog, soft atmospheric lighting, and a stage design that didn’t try too hard. Everything carried a cool, almost dreamlike feel that matched his sound perfectly without distracting from the music itself. It was proof that sometimes less really is more.

The setlist covered a lot of ground. “A Perfect World” had the crowd going crazy, but the moment that really stood out was “RATHER BE”, practically every single person in the Pavilion knew every word and wasn’t shy about letting LAROI know it. That kind of crowd energy is hard to fake, and it made the song feel even bigger than it does on record.

Another highlight was “BLEED.” There’s something about hearing that one live that just hits on a different level, especially because of how clearly his vocal range and emotional delivery come through in person.

Some of the night’s best moments came during the stripped-down acoustic portions of the set. Without overwhelming production or heavy backing tracks, it was simply raw vocals filling the room. It was the kind of performance that makes a crowd truly stop and listen, and one that proved he may be one of the strongest vocalists performing right now.

As the final notes of The Kid LAROI’s set faded into the chilly Boston night, the packed venue was left with a show that lived up to its tour name: perfect.
