Tuesday night, FIGHTMASTER took over The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA on their All or Nothing tour with opening support from Australian artist, Gordi.
Known to Grey’s Anatomy fans as Dr. Kai Bartley, FIGHTMASTER was originally focused on writing, acting and producing, when in 2023 they decided to dive into the world of music. Their style incorporates several genres including folk, pop and country, making for a unique sound complemented by their smooth vocals and catchy lyrics.
During FIGHTMASTER’s performance this week, the venue felt like a warm and safe space for fans to let go and be their authentic selves. The singer asked “how gay is it in here?” resulting in a roar of cheers from the crowd.
We got to hear several songs including “Glide”, “Quicksand” and “All or Nothing” off of their unreleased album, Tolerance, that drops on June 5. “Glide” specifically elicited excitement from the crowd with its soft and sensual vibes. FIGHTMASTER shared their excitement for the release of the album and to perform it in full live, noting their scheduled opening act for Lord Huron at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado on June 10. They added that they have enjoyed being opening support for artists including Lucy Dacus, but headlining “…has really filled my cup all the way to the brim.” You could see how much they were truly soaking up the love and support from fans present at the show.
Like many artists nowadays, they are not one to jump on the encore bandwagon, equating lying to the crowd about the set being over when we all know there are more songs to a poor role play scenario. They pretended to leave the stage emphasizing the awkwardness, making fans erupt in laughter. For their actual final song, they performed one of their most-streamed songs and their first single, “Bad Man.” As the final chord was played, fans knew the night had come to an end, receiving smiles and waves from FIGHTMASTER as they spent their last moment on the stage.
Although their headlining tour is coming to an end, we’re excited for the release of their debut album Tolerance, coming up next month, and can’t wait to see what else they have in store as they continue their musical career!
