After a sold-out North American headline tour, Maisie Peters is kind of a rock star, so it’s no surprise that her latest single rocks.
“Cate’s Brother” is Maisie’s first release since her acclaimed debut album ‘You Signed Up For This’ and carries on her knack for storytelling. Maisie’s lyrics pull you into her true POV of the time she fell for her friend’s brother.
The relatable tale grew from a February studio session tease and evolved as fans watched its evolution in real time racking up over 15 million views on TikTok.
“I wrote this song in Stockholm at a time I was revisiting a lot of the pop punk music I grew up listening to and thinking about how live I wanted my next era of music to feel” Maisie explains. “I always wanted to be in a band and so I channelled that energy into this song about my friend Cate’s brother, that’s become this whole universe bigger than both of us.”
This single’s sound is a bit of a departure from Maisie’s singer-songwriter sound and gives fans a peek into the next era of Maisie Peters – coming soon!
Fans can now catch Maisie on Ed Sheeran’s ‘+ – = ÷ x TOUR’ in Europe.
