June 16, 2026, wasn’t the first time Bleachers had played Boston, but this particular night at MGM Music Hall at Fenway felt different. Maybe it was the excitement of kicking off a two-night residency, or the fact that the band had just released their fifth studio album, Everyone For Ten Minutes, but the buzz of anticipation had hit a fever pitch. What followed was an evening built on the things Bleachers does best: getting the crowd to sing at the top of their lungs, dance without inhibition, and celebrate the joy of live music.
At the center of it all was frontman Jack Antonoff, whose energy remains one of the band’s greatest strengths. Watching Bleachers live isn’t simply about hearing songs performed; it’s about witnessing a group of musicians completely lose themselves in the music, and in turn, watching the crowd do the same. Antonoff spent much of the night urging the audience to get louder, and Boston happily obliged. At one point, he looked out over the packed venue and declared, “Boston showed the f*ck up.”
For Antonoff, Boston comes close to being a hometown show, given his parents attended college here. So it was only fitting when Antonoff’s father joined the band on stage to play the guitar during the middle of the set.
The rest of the setlist struck an effective balance between the band’s present and past. New material from the Bleachers latest era, including “You And Forever,” was met with sing-along, while longtime favorites like “Rollercoaster” and “Don’t Take the Money” made fans climb onto each other’s shoulders to match Antonoff and the band’s unrelenting energy.
Following the show, as the crowd spilled back out into Boston’s summer heat, they were still reeling from a band that has always, and will forever, deserve the hype.
