After breaking the internet with her viral hit “abcdefu,” GAYLE is back with “ur just horny,” and its music video.
The bold track, “is about the time I crossed the line in a friendship that I thought was platonic for years,” says GAYLE.
Over punchy guitar, GAYLE sings “you don’t want to be friends, you’re just horny.”
As GAYLE was writing the track with Daniel Kyriakides (Sylvan Esso, K. Flay) and Sara Davis, she came to the “realization that [the song’s subject] didn’t want to be my friend they just wanted to get into my pants – and that hurt. it’s hard to separate platonic, romantic, and sexual feelings and sometimes in friendships the lines can get blurry.”
One thing that is clear is GAYLE’s ability to write a hit. There’s plenty more viral worthy tracks arriving spring 2022 on her upcoming EP.
Fans can catch her on her mini solo tour, as well as AJR’s tour in March. Get tickets here!
