Following the announcement of Maisie Peters debut album, the UK singer-songwriter has revealed the second single, “Psycho” off her highly anticipated project.
“Psycho,” a collaboration with Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac, is a summer anthem for anyone who has ever been in a toxic relationship with a noncommittal partner.
“‘Psycho’ tells a dramatic story of someone whose lies catch up to them, and who seem to feel very little when they hurt other people. I think this is something near enough everyone in the world can relate to, myself included,” Peters explains.
Peters’s storytelling is brought to life in a cinematic music video. Co-written by Peters and director/frequent collaborator Louis Bhose (Loyle Carner, Arlo Parks), the video, starring Peters, depicts a girlfriend fed up with her cheating boyfriend. Enlisting the help of his exes and current girlfriends, Peters devises and executes a devious plan to get back at him.
“Psycho” is one of 14 tracks that will appear on her album, “You Signed Up For This” dropping August 27.
